Love me under the sun
I know we both love the moon, but love me in the sun, let the rays shine on us
And not only the glow of the moon reflecting on our skin
Let our love be seen at noon
And not only the strike of midnight
Let the rays of the sun tan our brown skin
And let our love be the reason it glistens
As we lay under it.
Let us not only let the constellations be our guide to each other
But allow the compass of our hearts lead us
I want us to find love in the heart of the city
And not only the lonely streets at night
Let us not share our love only on the backroads
But on the busy thruway at noon
Love me as the rays of the southern sunshine
And not only our reflection on the bayou at night
Love me in the sun
So we can replay it under the moon
