I recall the day I was born

I recall the day when I entered this world

Called out of comfortability, I came forth

Recalling the birthing pains from the one that bore me

The purposeful groaning of what's to come

I fathom that I was the culprit, unknowingly .

Head first, I am announced into the unknown

Where peace meets me, and reassures my heart.
I recall such an atmosphere

Where fluorescent lights mimicked the sun

And I am separated physically from the one that kept me safe.

I was nurtured for a season,

Until the time came for me to stand on my own

Reminiscing on such a moment

As I stand as the Woman I am today.

Stamped by my birthright

As my purpose is written in my heart

I have grown in the world of the uncomfortable

And purposeful comfort lies on the other side of it

When I am down, and cannot recall

My fathers words always fulfills me

And my coming forth was never in vain

I stand with confidence to reminisce on the purpose of my pain

Solely, I have peace  because I remember everything.
