Faulty Foundation
Around 2007-2008, my parents began the process of us remodeling our house. I have such vivid memories of the times, from spending hours at Doug Ashy, going to our contractors house after school, to making friends with the guys that did the tile in my parents bathroom( shoutout to Ian!) . I’ve always reflected on that process, and though it may have seemed frustrating at times with all of the waiting, we were apart of almost every process, and I personally learned so many skills on the process of remodeling a home, and what to look for.
One of the most important things that was detrimental to the outcome of the home, was the foundation. We prioritized for the ground to be looked at, and declared “firm”. We had to make sure that the roots were uprooted, the pests were eliminated, and that the ground was primed until the concrete was poured, and the foundation was strong enough to build on…. I wonder what would have happened If that process wasn’t done? would our house still be standing today?
Fast-forward to almost 10 years later, as I’m driving in my car, Holy Spirit drops in my heart “ Faulty Foundation”, and just downloads into me a word that was for a few people, a-lot of people…
Recently, I was just expressing to The Lord how I am noticing a lot of patterns In this certain place with the people that I have seen, its something that is quite shocking to me, because I am always shocked when people don’t have the level of Fear of the Lord that is required of someone who respects him, but these people are living double lives where right after they leave church, goes back to being that same person that they were before, or do not take the necessary steps to building that relationship with God, their relationship with God is basically on their terms, not God’s.
Now, before you send me an email, or make a comment, I am not perfect, I have never claimed to be, but when it comes to The Lord, I do not play. I share revelation of whats in the bible, and my personal experiences as well. Im thankful that I had someone around me at the time to be bold and give me this same word to bring me back on track, But my friend, the Holy Spirit requires All of you, not just half. What do you think will happen when people begin to “build” on that faulty foundation? Everything may look fine and dandy for a time , but eventually the roots will crack through the foundation, the concrete will break, and eventually the house will fall. Would you rather someone tell you beforehand to fix your faulty foundation before investing all of this money and time into something that is just going to eventually crack in the future? You tell me.
Hosea 4:6 says: “ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children”
Sometimes giving it all to the Lord would look like struggling to give something up, or praying over and over again for the strength to let certain things go, theres no judgement on that part, the judgement takes place where people are comfortably sitting in their mess, and are wondering why God isn’t doing what he said he wanted to do in your life, its because you never gave him access to do so, or you are willingly choosing to not do what he has called you to do for such a time as this (Esther 4:14).
Holy Spirit is a gentleman, every person has free will to choose what they desire to do… just as you chose to give your life to the Lord, the more that you draw closer to him, the more that he is going to draw closer to you ( James 4:8) .
So many people nowadays are trying to build on a faulty foundation, the roots represent generational curses/sin that one has not handled/ come out of before getting married, or having children..etc. Many people are also building on a foundation with someone that God has told them not to build with, it is subject to crumble overtime if not submitted to The Lord, and so many other examples. The house represents the Idol, it will come crumbling down to pieces because you have risen it above The Holy Spirit, he is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14).
So you're maybe wondering “ well how do I have a firm foundation?”… my answer to you is ……..( its in the song)!!
“Christ is my firm foundation”, Not that relationship that is keeping you in sin, not those crystals, or those horoscopes and tarot cards.
Christ is my firm foundation. Once you put The Lord back in his rightful pace in your life, everything will be added unto you(Matthew 6:33) .
The process may look like prioritizing spending time with The Lord, or fasting and praying. Letting go of things that you know is holding you down, or keeping you distracted. It is going to look like you cracking open your bible and turning off any podcasts or sermons for the moment, and get in the mud with just you and the Holy Spirit.
Now is not the time to be lost, or playing with the Holy Spirit, the enemy is after your soul as well, please do not forget that.
You are a WARRIOR! keep fighting the good fight of faith!!!!!!!
